Latam Guru – Terms of Use

1. Introduction

LatamGuru is a multifunctional mobile app created for migrants and expats who plan to move to, live in, or visit Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
The app is available in English, Russian, and Ukrainian.

By using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

2. Scope of Service
LatamGuru provides the following features:

  • Market – posting and browsing listings for goods and services.
  • Property – posting and browsing real estate listings.
  • Specialists – a section where users can showcase their skills, receive reviews, and appear in search by location and language. The platform does not verify qualifications or guarantee service quality.
  • Establishments – a section for businesses (restaurants, shops, services, etc.), where owners can create a profile for their place, set its location on the map, and specify the language they speak. Establishments are shown only to users who are in the same country and share the same language, allowing them to visit, contact the owner, or make a reservation.
  • Guides, checklists & resources – informational content covering relocation, adaptation, and daily life in Latin America.
  • Profile – account management, including contacts (Telegram, WhatsApp, email, phone), skills, ads, and bio.

🔹 Smart Localization of Content
LatamGuru automatically displays only the content relevant to the user’s selected language and current country.

Example: if an English-speaking user is located in Brazil, they will only see:

  • listings posted by other English-speaking users in Brazil,
  • guides, checklists, and resources available in English that apply to Brazil,
  • establishments in Brazil whose owners also selected English as their language.

This applies to all sections of the app (Market, Property, Specialists, Establishments, Guides).

3. Platform Role

LatamGuru acts only as an aggregator of user-generated content (ads, specialists, businesses, reviews).
We do not act as an intermediary, do not verify ads, and do not guarantee transactions, deliveries, or quality of services. All responsibility lies with users.

4. User Responsibilities

By using LatamGuru, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information in your ads and profile.
  • Respect the laws of your country of residence and the country of the listing.
  • Avoid posting illegal, offensive, fraudulent, or harmful content.
  • Take full responsibility for interactions and agreements with other users.

5. Prohibited Content & Actions

You may not use LatamGuru to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Sell prohibited goods or services.
  • Harass, insult, or threaten other users.
  • Spam or duplicate listings.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or malicious code.

6. User Content & License

  • Users retain ownership of all content they post (ads, reviews, photos, descriptions).
  • By posting, you grant LatamGuru a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute content necessary for app functionality.
  • This license ends when content is deleted, except where retention is required by law or for dispute resolution.

7. Intellectual Property

All guides, texts, designs, logos, and original content created by LatamGuru are the intellectual property of the app owner.
You may not copy, distribute, or use them without written consent.

8. Moderation & Reports

  • Listings, reviews, and profiles may be moderated before or after publication.
  • Users may report inappropriate content via the “Report” button.
  • LatamGuru reserves the right to remove content and block accounts violating these Terms.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice if:

  • A user violates these Terms,
  • Posts prohibited content,
  • Engages in fraud, spam, or harmful activities.

Users may delete their accounts anytime in Profile → Settings → Delete Profile.

10. Age Restrictions

  • LatamGuru is rated 4+ in app stores.
  • Minors may use the app only with parental supervision.
  • If local law requires parental consent for processing personal data (e.g., GDPR, LGPD), such consent must be provided before registration.

11. Privacy & Data

  • Collected data includes: profile info (name, photo, contacts, skills, country, city, language), ads, reviews, and location (if enabled).
  • Data is stored in Firebase Firestore & Storage (Google Cloud).
  • Users may delete their data anytime by deleting their profile.

🔹 Content Filtering by Language & Location

  • The app uses the selected language and the chosen/active country to determine which content is shown.
  • Users will only see content (ads, specialists, guides, establishments) published in the same language and country they have selected.

12. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

  • The app is provided “as is”, without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • LatamGuru is not responsible for user content, user-to-user transactions, or third-party links in the app.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, unless required by law.

13. Applicable Law & Disputes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Uruguay, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of the user’s country apply.
  • Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Uruguay, unless local law grants other jurisdiction rights to the user.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of LatamGuru means you accept the latest version.
